A 55-year-old herbalist, Fatai Olanrewaju, aka (Agbefawo) was on Monday arraigned before the Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for fraud and stealing.
The accuse person, appeared before Magistrate Adijat Oloyade on four counts bordering on stealing, conspiracy, fraud and illegal possession of charms.
Fatai who allegedly duped Olatunji Nike of a sum of #481,000.00, with a promise to cure her of the ailment she was battling but was defrauded by the herbalist.
The accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against him.
The police prosecutor, Adeoye Kayode, said the accused committed the offences on 17th October, 2019 at about 10am at Owode-Igbona Osogbo.
According to him, the offence contravene sections 516, 419, 383 and 213 of the criminal code CAP 34 vol II. Laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.
His councel, Abayomi Alayokun, applied for bail on behalf of his client with a pledge that he would provide a responsible surety.
Oloyade, in her ruling, however, committed the accuse person to bail in the sum of #250,000.00 and two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till December 13, 2019 for hearing.
