Friends and family of an aide to the state Governor, Oyeyemi Olalekan popularly called Emir are celebrating his freedom, months after he was remanded in Ife Correctional Facility for alleged terrorism and murder.
Justice Emmanuel Ayoola of a Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo on Tuesday, 16 April 2024, approved the bail application of Emir.
Emir was given bail in the sum of 50 million naira with two sureties in the same amount to the defendant.
The judge said one of the sureties must be a government-recognized traditional ruler in Osun State.
Justice Ayoola said the second surety should be a level 17 civil servant or member of the National Assembly.
The sureties according to the judge must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
Meanwhile, there are indications that Emir has met his bail condition and back in town with his people.
The medium gathered that the vehicle that conveyed Emir passed through Odi-Olowo Area around 6 pm on Tuesday.
Also, drummers were seen at Asoje area Osogbo entertaining people as they celebrate Emir’s freedom during the medium visit.
