One Oduola Mutiu was on Monday sentenced to 3 months in prison for stealing goats.
The convict who was arraigned before a Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo was said to have stole a goat valued at #30,000 and another she-goat valued at #15,000, property of Oluwatoyin Dada.
He, however pleaded guilty to the two count bothering on stealing.
According to the charge, the offences were committed in March at about 15:47pm and on October 4,2019 around 10:49am at Koju Foam Area, Osogbo.
The offence was contrary and punishable under section 390(3) of the criminal code cap 34 vol 2 laws of Osun State of Nigeria,2002.
Mutiu who was arraigned on two counts bothering on stealing pleaded guilty.
The Prosecutor,Soyemi Bose stated the fact by tendering some exhibits before the court which includes statements of the complainant,accused person and the she-goat itself.
The accused person who was without a legal representation pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy as he was a family man with a little child.
Magistrate Risikat Olayemi said, upon the plea of the accused, confession and recovery of the black she-goat.
She said each of the two counts established and proved beyond reasonable doubt.He is hereby found guilty and convicted.
Olayemi sentenced him to 3 months in prison with an option of #2,500 fine for each count
