Osun state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola on Thursday said he would not hesitate to deal with any member of his cabinet found culpable of corrupt practices.
He urged the newly sworn in cabinet members to ensure transparency in all they do, stressing that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption.
He spoke during the swearing in ceremony for commissioners and special advisers held at the state secretariat at Abeere.
Oyetola said, “This administration has zero tolerance for corruption and we shall therefore not hesitate to weild the big stick where necessary.
“Ensure you go about your duties with probity and transparency. These are the elements that would ensure stellar performance in the face of extant limited resources and earn the trust of the people.
“As head of ministries you are our delivery channels. I charge you to harness the available human and material resources to fulfill our promises to the people”.
He charged the cabinet members to quickly familiarize themselves with the contents of the administration’s development agenda, saying they do not of the luxury of time on their side.
He said a performance evaluating unit has been set up to from time to time evaluate their performances.
He said, “A performance charter will be given to you to guide your role in delivering on the agenda. There will be service delivery and evaluating unit to access your performance and productivity from time to time.
” Your tasks have been carefully designed to enable you give full expression to your competence and contributions within the larger context of the developmental agenda, the basis on which your performance and relevance will be rated.
Oyetola also urged them to learn to work together as one and see themselves as partners in progress , stressing that when they do this posterity would look kindly on them.
