The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward chairmen have organised prayers for the victory of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola at the election petition tribunal hearing his petition against Senator Ademola Adeleke. The prayer session was organized by the 369 ward chairmen of the APC across the state which held at the state secretariat, Osogbo, the state capital. Three clerics, Mallam Sherifdeen Olagunju, Referend Moses Olasupo and Ifadayo Ifasogboyo who prayed in muslim, christian and traditional way, seek God's intervention to give Oyetola victory at the tribunal. The clerics prayed God to reclaim the Governor's mandate freely given to him by the good people of the state, urging APC members to have faith in God. In his closing remarks, the state chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun thanked the ward chairmen for organizing prayer for the party and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, stressing that the party has faith in God and the tribunal. "Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is a God fearing and lover of peace. He doesn't abhor violence. He preach peace at all time. As a party, today, we are not happy with happened to the party but today's prayer has allayed our fear. "We believe that God has answer our prayer and we will be victorious at the tribunal. We want you (clerics) to continue to pray for us. Don't forget us in your prayer, pray to God to return the party's loss," he said. In an interview with journalists, Mr Ojeleye Emmanuel, the chairman of APC ward chairmen in the state, said the party believed in power of prayer which necessitated the prayer organized by the ward chairmen to seek God's intervention at the ongoing tribunal. He however, urged party members to be united and steadfast as the party would soon reclaim its stolen mandate.
