The leadership of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West under the chairmanship of Dr. Eddy Olafeso has condemned the “wishful and wicked imagination of the political enemies against” its candidate in September 22nd governorship election of Osun state, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, attributing a passenger’s death in Lagos airport to his name.
A statement signed by Rev. Bunmi Jenyo,
Zonal Secretary, PDP South West Zone, in reaction to the insinuations that one Adeleke Ademola died in Lagos, reads in parts: “A man simply identified as Ademola Adeleke had reportedly slumped and died at the early hours of Wednesday 7th November, 2018 in Lagos.”
“Indeed, it is wicked, unthinkable and absurd of the political marauders who stole Osun masses mandate freely given to Sen. Adeleke, to insinuate that the vibrant Senator, who goes about his daily activities with sound mind, hale and hearty, has passed on at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
“To the Glory of GOD, Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is alive to his invaluable responsibilities at the upper chamber of National Assembly, as he warms up to reclaim the stolen mandate of Osun people through the Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo, the state capital.
“It is indeed inhuman to wish anyone dead or ill to confuse the unsuspecting public about the true situation or in the scheme of things. Hence, the doubtless need to put the records straight, Sen. Adeleke is alive and in sound mind.”
