There is no doubt that the race to Okefia Government House, Osogbo, Osun state ahead of 2026 general elections has commenced in earnest.
Though, the incumbent governor under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke, has not hidden his desire to return to the House in view of all strategies being deployed for the realisation of his second bid in office during the poll.
For the opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), there had been moves across the three senatorial districts of the state by various aspirants to throw their hats into the rings for the plum office if by other way round the immediate past governor of the state and Minister of Marine Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola is not contesting again come 2026.
There are many other stakeholders in the APC that is nursing the intention to contest for the governorship position of the state.
One of such personalities is no other than a former senator representing Osun West senatorial district of the state at the National Assembly and one of the political allies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Mudashiru Hussain.
Senator Hussain has been a close ally of the president when he served as a member of House of Representatives representing Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency of Lagos state.
The former lawmaker served two terms as the federal lawmaker in Lagos state where he worked closely with president Tinubu when he was the governor of Lagos state.
In view of loyalty and commitment to President Tinubu’s political ideology, Senator Hussain was brought back to his home state of Osun where he contested as a Senator representing Osun West senatorial district and won that election with the support of President Tinubu and other progressives in the state.
After his superlative outing at the National Assembly, Senator Hussain returned home and was appointed Commissioner Cabinet under Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola-led administration and worked to assist the administration to achieve its set goals.

Later, Senator Hussain was appointed as the Federal Commissioner in charge of National Population Commission in the state and also performed excellently.
He was also a coordinator
Buhari/Osinbajo campaign committee in the state where he distinguished himself very well and worked tirelessly for the electoral victory of Buhari/Osinbajo presidency during the period.
It will be noted that, Senator Hussain has been a major pillar of APC in the state especially in the Osun West senatorial district of the state where he has been working day and night for the growth of the party with other leaders in the area.
Without mincing words, if the leadership of the APC would reward loyalty and commitment as well as political exposures for the governorship ticket of the party come 2026, Senator Hussain deserves to be considered so as to bring his wide exposures to the good governance of the state.
