The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps {NSCDC} Osun State Command on Thursday, called for peaceful coexistence between all tribes in the state to have a safer environment.
Osun NSCDC Commandant, Agboola Sunday made the call while addressing participants at this year’s International Day of Peace, with the theme ‘’ACTIONS FOR PEACE: OUR AMBITION FOR GLOBAL GOALS’’.
According to a statement signed by the Command spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, a copy made available to Osun Daily, Agboola stated that residents of the state must avoid hatred, violence, fear and intolerance to live in harmony.
He said, ‘’All hands must be on deck to have a Nigeria that generation yet unborn will be proud of. A nation where fear and social unrest are totally substituted with peace should be the goal of everyone.”
Wife of the State Governor, Erelu Ngozi Adeleke represented by Princess Adenike Adeleke, in a words urged residents of the state to make peace their watchword.
She stressed that development is only possible where love and peace thrive.
In his goodwill message, the Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Dr Adedokun Abolarin, said tolerance is needed to build a nation, enjoining Nigerians to love one another genuinely to have a peaceful and inclusive society free from violence.
