Council chairman’s attempted mayhem voided

There has been palpable fear in Ile Ife over cases of planned attacks at today’s All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary as some leaders of the party planned to distrupt the exercise.
Investigation showed that the deputy state chairman of the APC, Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal and Ife East caretaker council chairman, Hon. Akinwale Akinwole had perfected plan to use political thugs to rigged the primary in favour of their preferred candidate.
Sources said, “thuggs had been mobilized in each of the polling units where the primary is scheduled to hold today and these thuggs have been paid. We have been seen the signal in each polling unit”.
Check showed that few party members are seen at each polling discussing fear of possible attacks when the exercise commences. The Ife-East caretaker chairman, Hon. Akinwale Akinwale was over-powered by members of his party when he attempted to cause mayhem in his ward.
It could recalled that the national working committee of the APC had scheduled its House of Representatives primary elections across the country to today, Friday 27th May, 2022.
Some members of the APC who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the matter, said as a progressive party, the use of thuggs does not befit the party, saying this may lead to people abandoning the exercise and run for their life and would not produce credible candidate for the party in Ile Ife.
“Politics should not be seen as a do or die affair but service to humanity. Why our people are so despirate for power at the expense of the people. The leaders should desist from politics of thuggery and embrace political decency because God gives power to whoever He wishes”.
