Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Sunday charged Osun indigenes recently appointed into various federal positions by President Bola Tinubu to put the interest of Osun first in carrying out the tasks of their new offices.
Adeleke disclosed this in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, obtained in Osogbo.
Recently, Tinubu appointed Mr. Olalekan Badmus, the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties in the administration of ex governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, as the Executive Director, Marine and Operations of Nigeria Port Authority, while ex-Osun Commissioner for Works, Mr. Oluremi Omowaiye was appointed the Executive Director, Project Implementation in the Federal Housing Authority.
Reacting to the appointments, Adeleke, who described the state as a common estate that must be rallied around by all to attain desired growth and development, also congratulated the appointees, noting that Osun comes first to him above any other consideration and so, sees their appointments as a win for the state.
He said his administration would always be opened to support and collaborate with Osun indigenes in President Tinubu’s government in changing the face of the state and putting smiles on its people, urging them to take their new positions as an opportunity to impact lives better.
The statement further read, “It is to my delight that I welcome the appointment of Osun indigenes into various positions by President Bola Tinubu. The appointments is an added benefit to Osun, as our people will enjoy the benefits of more hands in various positions to touch impact their lives and compliment my administration’s sincere efforts to set this state on a path of growth and development.
“As I appreciate President Tinubu for the opportunity given to Osun indigenes in his cabinet, I charge the appointees to take their new positions as an opportunity to serve not only the interests of the APC but also the greater good of our beloved state.”
Meanwhile, a socio-political group, Team Beta Naija, has also commended Tinubu, for appointing Omowaiye, as the Executive Director, Project Implementation of the Federal Housing Authority.
Reacting to the appointment, Team Beta Naija
expressed optimism that Omowaiye, who served in the cabinet of ex-Osun governor, Rauf Aregbesola and his successor, Adegboyega Oyetola in two different ministries, has the capacity to deliver on the mandate of the president for the Federal Housing Authority.
The statement signed by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mustafa Ahmed Tijani, obtained in Osogbo, further read, “We thank President Bola Tinubu for finding our convener worthy of being in his administration.
“Over the years, Engineer Oluremi Omowaiye has distinguished himself as a technocrat and politician whose track record of service in private and public sectors is outstanding and full of achievements.
“We are quite confident in his ability and competence to deliver. We are sure of his credibility, team player attributes as well as his commitment to make government work for the people.”
