A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Olayinka has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party is one in Ile-Ife, saying there is no division in the party, although, there may be differences among members of the party but it has not affected the unity and onenes of the party.
Olayinka made the disclosure in a chat with our correspondent in Ile-Ife.
According to him, there has been harmonisation in the party to ensure that the party is not go to the forthcoming governorship election with divided house in the state.
“We are working for the success of the PDP in the coming gubernatorial election in Osun State to ensure that the candidate of the party, senator Ademola Adeleke wins the election.
The deputy governorship candidate of the PDP, Prince Kola Adewusi has been working seriously for the unity and success of the party. He is a strong and popular candidate with numerous followers in Ile-Ife.
Professor Wale Oladipo, who is the party leader in Ile-Ife has also been working for the success of the party in the coming July 16 Governorship election in the State”.
The PDP chieftain described PDP as a party to beat in Ile-Ife, “Ife is not APC town, Ife has not benefited from the APC government in the state particularly infrastructural facilities”.
Olayinka added:”Ile-Ife is backward under the reign of APC government in the last 12 years. There is hunger in our society and a vote for APC is a vote for poverty and hunger”.
Speaking on the aggrieved members of the party who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress in Ile-Ife, Olayinka said, talks is ongoing with them, “they are our party members, they will soon return to PDP because we know them.
They did not intend to go but feel cheated in the party and the issues raised are being addressed, so am sure they will soon return to their original party and take their place”.
He, therefore, called on electorate to vote for PDP in the coming gubernatorial election in the state, stressing that APC has been overstayed in Osun and there is need to try another party and urged them not sell their votes.
