A yet to be identified policeman was on Friday attacked by mob around Ram market, Ring road area, Osogbo, over alleged attempt to arrest a suspected internet fraudsters.
The suspected internet fraudsters, according to eyewitnesses were chased by the police officers to the area and were about to be arrested when the mob descended on them.
The eyewitnesses claimed the police officer cock his gun and attempted to shoot at the suspected yahoo boys, a situation that led to the attack from the mob.
In one of the videos obtained by Osundaily, the unidentified police officer was beaten by the mob with blood coming out of his head while the other officers begged for mercy.
Also, the crowd were shouting in Yoruba ‘Ole ni Won, Ama Je kan Lo’, they are thieves, do not let them go and ‘Iku Payin Loni’, you are going to die today.
In another video, a woman was heard shouting that she was nearly hit by the police vehicle, telling the mob not to allow the officer run away.
