A 50-year-old man, Kazeem Adetayo was on Friday arraigned before the magistrates’ court, sitting in Osogbo for stealing.
Kazeem, who appeard before magistrate Taofiq Badmus, was arraigned on two counts bordering on stealing.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode, said that, the accused committed the offences on October 6, 2019 at about 6 pm at Owode area, Osogbo.
He added that, the accused did steal a cash sum of 70,000.00, property of one Omowumi Adewale living at No 20, Owode area, Osogbo.
According to the charge, the offences committed, contravene sections 516 and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 Vol Il laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
applied for the bail of his client in the most liberal terms, with a promise to provide a reliable surety.
Counsel to the defendant, Okobe Najite, , while pleading for case to be struck out told the court that the case was a domestic matter, adding that the complaint was willing to settle the case out of court.
However,, Omowumi said she wanted her estranged husband to be tried after refusing to come with an agreement paper that he would pay back the money.
Badmus in his ruling, committed the accused to bail in the sum of #100,000:00 and one surety in the like sum.
The case was adjourned till December 20, 2019.
