Omooba Dotun Babayemi, the Action Democratic Party’s Senatorial Candidate in Osun West in 2019 elections, has explained why he and hundreds of his supporters joined the Peoples Democratic Party.
Babayemi, who joined the party, alongside Alhaji Bakare Akomola, ex factional state chairman of PDP, said he led his supporters to his new party because of his believe in PDP as a better platform for impacting the populace.
The Gbongan-born security expert then prayed for Adeleke’s victory in his case before the Supreme Court.
“We prayed for PDP’s victory in the matter before to the Supreme Court. We believe in the party and we shall join forces to reposition it,” Babayemi said.
Receiving new members of the party on behalf of Senator Ademola Adeleke, the party’s governorship candidate at a well attended ceremony held in PDP State Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun chairman of the party, Mr Soji Adagunodo, urged members of the party to remain united ahead of the verdict, and called for fervent prayer towards a favourable judgement by the Apex Court.
Adeleke told members not to entertain fear, as they have done their part by voting for him and charged them to continue seeking God’s mercy regarding the judgement of the Supreme Court.
He said when he eventually assumed office as governor, the state would witness a new dawn of development.
He also charged new members to join forces with others and reposition PDP for future challenges in the state.
PDP Southwest Zonal Chairman, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, commended both new and old members of the party for their steadfastness and assured them of necessary support towards ensuring unity among them.
