Residents of the state of Osun have been asking about the whereabouts of the governor of the state, Sen. Ademola Adeleke.
The governor, according to sources left the state two weeks ago and is yet to return.
Osun Daily reliably gathered that the governor is in Lagos.
The residents, majorly supporters of the opposition All Progressive Congress, APC, took to their various socio-media to demand the whereabouts of the governor.
They claimed the governor is operating on proxy and can’t be trusted with the administration of the affairs of the state.
A Facebook user, Muyiwa Oladimeji on his page berated the governor for leaving the state early days into his tenure, saying the governor has absconded because he doesn’t have what it takes to be the governor.
Another user, Bamidele Oladayo on his page described the governor as vindictive, saying he ran away from the state after his lies about the past administration.
However, members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party have told loyalists of the APC to stop monitoring the governor and concentrate on how to pull tougher their sinking house.
A member of the party in Ifedayo local government, Oladitan Abayomi who spoke with Osun Daily, said the governor is at liberty to travel, adding that he went on official assignment.
According to him, the deputy governor is on the ground to attend to matters of the state, adding that the APC is just finding it hard as an opposition.
“If they know what is good for them, they should go and concentrate on how to put together their sinking house and leave Adeleke alone.
“A governor can leave the state to attend to matters of urgency and since he has a capable deputy, I don’t know why they are shouting up and down.
“The people of the state have used their votes to bring in Ademola and no amount of lies can change what God has ordained”.
