Kingmakers in Moro, Osun State, led by the Asalu of Moro, Chief James Salako, has declared that due process was followed in the selection of Olumoro-elect, Prince Oyeyemi Adebayo.
Salako made the disclosure at a press briefing organised by Kingmakers of Moro.
He said that on June 6th, the five kingmakers of Moro sent a notification letter of the death of Oba Ezekiel Oyeniyi, the former Olumoro of Moro to the head of Local Government Administration,Ife North West L.C.D.A. Edunabon.
According to him, necessary interview, screening, traditional and cultural formalities for five contestants for the vacant stool of Olumoro were successfully completed.
“Prince Shadrach Adetoro; Prince Joel Olaoye;Prince Adebayo Oyeyemi; Prince Olasunmiboye Oyetunde and Prince Folorunsho Oyewumi signed peace agreement.
“The contestants pledged that they will support,cooperate, pray and embrace candidate that is selected as OluMoro of Moro in free and fair contest.
“And that they will not cause any problem or evil things in Moro,” he stated.
Also, the Baale Ile Arowosilejoye, Pa Johson Eegunyemi stated that the same procedure that produced the late Olumoro was adopted in selection of Olumoro-elect.

Egunyemi added that there was no violence before, during and after the election, because voting was done openly, whereby three kingmakers voted for Oyeyemi Adebayo, Adeyinka Adetoro and Olasumiboye Oyetunde got one vote each respectively.
According to him, Hezekiah Obitokun and Joel Olaoye got no vote, saying that Adebayo is God’s chosen as OluMoro of Moro.
The Baale Ile Arowoeledejoye, Pa Jacob Oyebamiji, said that when the letter was brought from Local Government, they were warned against chosen wrongly, for kingship is not three or six months but till death depart.
“He counselled us that whoever chosen by God should be jointly accepted, that’s why we prayed to God and thank God for given the Olumoro elect.
The Molaage of Moro, Chief James Adeagbo, said that since they’ve appointed Prince Oyeyemi Adebayo as new Olumoro-elect, peace have been reigning within the town.
Adeagbo prayed for continuation of the peaceful coexistence within the community and called for support of indigene so as to take the town to the promised land.
The Omoloju of Moro, Chief Yinka Olanrewaju, stated that they abide with the rules and regulations guided king selection by the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Ife North West LCDA, Edunabon.
Olanrewaju added that the five kingmakers in Moro didn’t go against the procedure of selection in Moro town, for they were all present during the selection.
According to him,they wrote letter to the local government before, notified them of death of Late Oba Ezekiel Oyeniyi and vacant stool for the post.
He appreciated the state Government of Osun under the leadership of Gov Ademola Adeleke for his due process and accountability which he said the people of Moro land is expecting the announcement of Prince Oyeyemi Adebayo as the New Olumoro

Mr Samson Abidoye, who spoke on behalf of youths, appreciated God and the Kingmakers for the way and manner things were being done concerning the selection.
“We applauded our kingmakers of Moro land for their efforts to ensure that right person was chosen and for not allowed this to cause violence that would lead to lost of lives and Prosperity within the town”. He stated.
