Posterity Will be Kind to Oyetola – Prince Awofisayo

An elder statesman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun state, Prince Felix Adeyemi Awofisayo has stressed that posterity and indeed history will be kind to the immediate-past Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaq Adegboyega Oyetola and his administration whenever the story of the state is passed to the coming generations.

This form parts of the reaction of the Ile-Ife-born Prince to the recent Supreme Court judgement that pronounced Senator Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the July 16, 2023 governorship election in Osun State.

According to Prince Awofisayo in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital, the state immediate-past Governor has left an indelible track record of achievements in his style of administration in spite of the meagre resources left by his predecessor coupled with the state dwindling allocations from the Federation Accounts and heavy financial indebtedness.

While going philosophical on the Supreme Court judgement, the Osun APC Chieftain quoted the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo: “It is not life that matters but the courage you put into it.”

He there admonished Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola not to see the court judgement as a form of defeat but rather as preservation of his life for higher services to the state in particular and the country in general.

“Please do not see the Supreme Court judgement as a form of defeat but God’s own way of preserving your life for future service to Osun State in particular and the nation in general,” Prince Awofisayo further stated.

The APC chieftain therefore congratulated the former Governor on his spirit of sportsmanship he displayed on the Supreme Court judgement, observing that his type are uncommon.

He also charged Alhaji Oyetola and all members of the APC in the state to see better days ahead, while all should focus on the task of repositioning the Party, with a view to leading it to greater heights.

The APC chieftain further observed the court ruling as a form of divine intervention as an uncommon way from God to further forster unity within the progressive family in Osun State politics.

Prince Awofisayo also used the opportunity to charge party members in the state to see the court ruling as a blessing in disguise, as it will afford members the unique opportunity to think outside the box in efforts to breathe more life into the party in the state.
