The Osun state House of Assembly has announced that it would receive the draft of 2020 budget from the governor on Monday, 11th November, 2019.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, disclosed this at the Plenary sitting held on Wednesday while reading a correspondent dated 6th November, 2019 and sent to his office by the Governor of the state, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola .
As read out in the letter, the governor said his decision to present the 2020 Budget Estimates of the state before the House was in line with the extant rules of the land.
Also at the plenary, the speaker announced the composition of 22 standing Committees of the House in line with the Standing Orders and Rules of the House ( Part XIX) with a charge to adhere strictly to the tenets guiding the Oversight Functions of the Parliament in the interest of members of the public.
He added that this would help ensure accountability, transparency and would also portray the various office holders as the representative of the people.
