The Osun State Young Medical Laboratory Scientist Forum (YMLSF) has elected its new set of officers.
The event, held at the Medical Laboratory Complex Seminar Room, UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Idi-seke Osogbo, Osun State, saw a large turnout of enthusiastic members eager to participate in shaping the future direction of the forum.
YMLSF National representatives at the event include; MLS Adeola Oyekan (National Vice President, Southwest), MLS Adedapo Kehinde (Ondo State YMLSF Chairman), MLS Bolarinwa Kabir Adekunle (National AGS and Immediate past Osun State Publicity Secretary), Pioneer OSUN YMLSF Chairman, MLS Ayodeji Faremi, among others.
The parent wing, Osun State Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), the State Chairman was represented by the State General Secretary in person of Dr. Samuel Bolaji.
Other AMLSN representatives present include; Mr. Joel Ogunbode( AMLSN Chairman, Osun State HMB Chapter), Dr. Imohimi Oduru (AMLSN Chairman, UNIOSUNTH CHAPTER).
The outgoing chairman, MLS Alao Morufat Bolanle gave a concise report of the activities held during her tenure.
Among the achievements were; Molecular training of Young Medical Laboratory Scientists, Get together fiesta, Fight against quackery in Osun, consultations and meeting with the Osun house of Assembly to ensure the bill of establishing blood transfusion service see the light of the day in osun state such that, every blood needed to be transfused must undergo all necessary stages of screening to ensure a zero transfusion transmissible infections and as well, to safeguard the life of the vulnerable without any form of extortion and to meet up with the standard practice as it is in other state and as well, in line with Nation blood transfusion services and world health organizations.
Before the election, candidates vying for various positions introduced themselves and presented their visions and plans for the organisation’s growth and impact.
The election process, characterized by transparency and fairness, adhered to the principles of democratic governance upheld by the YMLSF.
The electioneering process commenced with overview of the electoral voting guidelines handled by the Electoral Committee Chairman, MLS ADEBOYE Olamide Timothy, supported by the Secretary, MLS Olawale Kafayat.
Members cast their ballots with enthusiasm, exercising their democratic right to elect representatives who they believe will best serve the interests of the association.
Following the conclusion of voting, the ballots were sorted and counted under the supervision of the YMLSF National and Osun State AMLSN Representatives to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
The results were announced, declaring the winners of the election for various positions within the OSUN YMLSF.
In the post-election remarks, the stakeholders present congratulated the new executives and expressed confidence in their ability to lead the association to new heights. The importance of unity and collaboration among members to achieve the association’s goals and objectives was emphasized.
The newly elected State Chairman, MLS Ademola Samuel on behalf of the executives, extended their gratitude to the stakeholders and members for their support and trust, pledging to uphold the values of transparency, accountability, and service in their respective roles.
As the dust settles on the election, anticipation builds for the dawn of a new chapter in the Osun State YMLSF’s journey. With dynamic leadership at the helm and the collective energy of its passionate members, the association is poised to continue its mission of professional excellence and development, collaboration and partnerships, fair employment practices, WHO standard practice, empowering youth leaders, and making a meaningful impact in society through orientations and advocacies to ensure we have a state devoid of quackery and impersonations.
The successful election serves as a testament to the vibrancy and resilience of the YMLSF Electoral Chairman MLS ADEBOYE Olamide reaffirming his status as a beacon of youth leadership and service excellence.
