The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Ife-East local government chapter, Mr Isaac Durojaye has described his purported suspension recently by the Mr Sunday Bisi led faction of the party, as a joke taken too far, saying what the group did was illegal.
Isaac made this known in an interview with our correspondent in Ile-Ife. According to him, they can’t suspense me because my actions are based on constitution of the party and due process. He said his purported suspension is just mere rumour, stressing that he has no fear.
“What the faction did was unconstitutional and illegal. Mr Sunday Bisi is not my State chairman because he is not constitutionally recognized. My local government had passed vote of confident on me before their illegal suspension,” he said.
The PDP chairman noted that Honourable Adagunodo was the constitutionally recognized state chairman before his elevation as the Vice chairman, South-West of the Peoples Democratic Party and according to the party’s constitution, the next officer to occupy the office is the Vice chairman in the same zone who is barrister Wale Ojo should occupy the office.
The due process was followed in electing Wale Ojo, urging Sunday Bisi to sheath their swords and join Wale Ojo to move the party forward. “We have the majority in the state party executive, they are in the minority.”
He stressed that there would be solution to the crisis, noting that the party is working to resolve the crisis and the issue is family affairs which would be solved soon. The party chairman, however, urged party members to trek softly in interest of the party with a view win the next governorship poll in the state.
