Osun State Government through the Permanent Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB ), Alhaji Fatai Kolawole has charged the existing and new contractors handing the Board’s projects to ensure standard and quality work delivery in tandem with the stated construction specifications and contractual agreements.
Alhaji Kolawole made this known to contractors last week Monday during bids opening ceremony for the year 2018 Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) /State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) intervention fund project in Osogbo, the State capital.
The SUBEB helmsman urged the existing and new contractors at the well-attended exercise to do a thorough job while imploring them to adhere strictly to the Board technical unit instructions.
While asserting the board’s position, Alhaji Kolawole told the contractors that the board will not permit or approve payment for any substandard job, pointing out that the purposeful present administration has zero-tolerance for shoddy job execution.
He enumerated the achievements of the present administration under the leadership of Governor Oyetola in education sector within one year, which includes, 32 blocks of newly constructed 167 classrooms, 31 public elementary and middle schools were renovated, 4100 units of students furniture for JSS and Middle Schools, 4800 pupils furniture for primary and Elementary schools and 900 Teacher furniture were procured and distributed to schools
Others were 58 block of squatting toilet constructed, 24 public elementary, primary and middle schools were fenced,10 public elementary and middle schools were equipped with ICT materials with solar electrification, drilling and reticulation of 9 units borehole, construction of 16 units motorized deep well and distribution of sporting material to 67 schools across the state.
He stressed further that the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola is passionate about delivery of dividends of democracy to all nook and crannies of the state, assuring them that the state government of Osun and UBEC, Abuja are poised to inject huge amount of fund into ongoing schools infrastructure renewal program, adding that agricultural education program shall also be seriously focused at in schools
by the government.
While speaking separately at the event, the State Coordinator, Universal Basic Education Board Commission (UBEC), Mr Jimoh Kamaldeen and Director Planning Research and Statics (SUBEB), Mrs Iyabo Olaniyan also corroborated the earlier position of Alhaji Kolawole by urging the contractors to do standard job which must be completed and promptly delivered based on the time schedule for delivery, explaining that all hands are going to be on deck in ensuring that serious monitoring is going to be carried out to various construction sites in order to put in place standard school buildings that will meet test of the time for the benefit of Osun school children and future generation.

Nuraini Fajinmolu, Project Architect and Mr Mutiu Olatunji, Project Builder, both taking the contractors through the nitty-the itty of needed construction specifications from the contractors
