The Osun state house of assembly has on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of the nominees sent to it by the governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.
The governor had on September 24 sent a 35 man list of commissioner and special adviser nominees to the state house of assembly.
Consequently, the house conducted screenings on the nominees between September 30 and October 7 2019.
After deliberations at the plenary, the house the voted that all the nominees be confirmed.
The speaker, Timothy Owoeye said the nominees did not perform below the standard, and proved they merited to be in the governor’s cabinet.
He stated that the governor could proceed to swear them in as commissioners and special advisers.
Advising them, Owoeye said they should join their hands with the governor to take the state to the next level.
He also them to always have the interest of the populace at heart and do away with urge to amass wealth for their selfish interest.
He said, ” We have critically examined their credentials and during the screening we asked questions relating to governance. In all, they didn’t perform below expectation.
They also have displayed humility, integrity and the readiness to work.
“I urged them to see their confirmation as a call to service. They should join hands with the governor of the state to work for the development of the state. They shouldn’t pocket the money meant for the state. “
