Some candidates of New Nigerians Peoples Party (NNPP) and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Monday, defected to the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara.
They were received by the former Governor and Chairman, APC governorship campaign council in the state, Abdul’aziz Yari.
The event was held at Talata Mafara and attended by Zamfara APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani and other chieftains.
Spokesperson to the former governor, Dahiru Mafara gave the names of the decampees in a statement issued on Monday.
The names are Ibrahim Shinkafi, NNPP Senatorial candidate, Zamfara North Senatorial District; House of Representatives candidate, Shinkafi and Zurmi Constituency, Suleiman Garba.
State Treasurer, Suleiman Galadi; Kaura-Namoda and Zurmi Local Governments NNPP Chairmen also defected.
Others include the Coordinator of a Foundation for PDP governorship campaign, Aminu Kanoma, as well as the Secretary and Treasurer, Aminu Saminu and Hajiya Umulkhairi Aminu.
Yari was represented at the occasion by the Chairman, Contact and Mobilisation Sub-committee of the council, Musa Zubairu.
