The police in Ogun State have arrested a 24-year-old man, Gadafi Bala, for allegedly raping a Junior Secondary School (JSS1) student of Aderegun Community High School, Ogijo, Sagamu.
The command spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Abeokuta.
Odutola said a report was received by the command on Thursday from Ifesowapo Otitoloju CDA in Ilara Ogijo that the student was raped by Bala.
She said the Division Police Officer, Ogijo Division visited the victim as soon as he got the report and issued an examination form for evaluation.
She added that the result proved positive that one Gadafi had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.
The statement partly read, “No person involved in such act will evade punishment as it is a serious crime against human rights violations.
”Sequel to the result being confirmed by a doctor of a government-owned hospital, Gadafi was promptly arrested.
”Preliminary investigation has commenced into the matter and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.”
