A 34-year-old man, Adeniji Segun was on Wednesday arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Osogbo for stealing and forgery.
Segun who was said to have stole three 50kg empty gas cylinder valued at #125,000 property of one Yusuf Saheed and seventeen 50kg gas cylinders, two 50kg gas cylinders valued #77,000 properties of one Lateef Aminat.
He was also accused of forging the signature of one Akinpelu Adewale a.k.a Happy gas to issued an invoice that he sold 13 empty gas cylinder to him.
According to the charge, the offence was committed on July 15,2019 at Isale-Osun Better life junction and on October 6,2019 around 8pm at Gbeja street,Oke-baale, Osogbo.
The offences were contrary and punishable under sections 516,390,430 and 467 of the criminal code cap 34 vol 2 laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The accused who was arraigned on five counts bothering on stealing, Forgery and false presentation pleaded not guilty.
The Defence Counsel,Mr Lekan Alabi applied for bail and urged the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq opposed the bail application on the ground that granting bail to the accused person may jeopardize their efforts to get the other people involved.
He said, only few exhibits have been recovered, and effort is on to recover the rest since he has given them clue on where other exhibits are kept.
Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara in his ruling considering the health of the accused granted him bail in the sum of #1million and one surety in like sum.
