The Yobe State Police Command has confirmed the arrested of a lecturer, Adamu Gambo Hudu, for allegedly raping a female student of Al-Ma’arif, a
private college of Health Sciences in Potiskum town.
The suspect is said to be an employee of the State General Hospital, Potiskum and Al-Ma’arif.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, said Hudu was arrested last Wednesday by Police operatives, noting that further investigation is being carried out on the issue.
The PPRO said, “The suspect is in our custody. He was arrested for alleged rape, molestation and breach of trust. Further investigation is ongoing”.
Also, the Registrar of Al-Ma’arif College of Health Sciences and Technology, Usman Alhaji Saleh, confirmed the arrest to newsmen.
But he declined further comments on the matter.
