The Alumni Association of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso has urged the owing state governor out of the two states to own up and fulfill it obligations rather than playing politics with the lives of students of the school.
The association said with the recent crisis in the school, it was evident that one of the states has failed to meet up with it responsibilities.
Speaking with Osun Daily in a telephone interview on Saturday the National Public Relation Officer of the Association, Oluwadamilare Adeyemi said owing up and doing the needful would help save the crisis from degenerating.
He said, ” we have met with the two governors and held talks with them to ensure a good relationship exist among them.
“We as an alumni association will try as much as possible not be partisan or take side with anyone. But the fact remains that the school needs funding. We are again pleading with the two governors to fulfill their responsibilities. Any of the two owing should please pay up and stop playing politics so that the school can run smoothly. This would help to save the issue from turning to a big one.
Adeyemi stated that the alumni of the school would like the joint ownership to continue as against calls that one of the states to cede the ownership to another.
He said, “We want the marriage to continue. We won’t like this to cause problems going forward. And if they would be parting ways it should be done in a good way and not in the current circumstance where they are accusing one and other of defaulting in the payment of subvention to the school.
“As it is now either of the two states is owing it subvention. We are pleading with such governor to pay up. “
