Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja has called on the governor’s in the southwest region to come together and unite to fight security challenges that fastly affecting the region.
The former Governor was speaking against the backdrop of killings, and kidnapping which have found their ways into the southwes in the recent past.
Senator Ladoja made the call in ibadan during his eid message to Nigerians.
Former Governor Ladoja said, “I believe the governors in the southwest should come together to tackle the security bridge in the region after all they are Governors for everybody notwithstanding their political differences”
Speaking on Oyo State politics, Senator Ladoja said his expectations from the new government which he midwifed into existence is good governance assuring that Seyi Makinde-led administration will not disappoint the people of the state.
On Local Government dissolution, the High Chief of Ibadanland said the system that brought the council chairmen into office was marred with irregularities and therefore the governor was right to show them the way out of the office.
The Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland said, “The council chairmen knew they were in office illegally. Or why did they rush to court if they are sure of the legality of their being in office?”, Senator Ladoja asked rethorically.
Senator Ladoja charged Nigerians across political and religious devides to imbibe tolerance with which Ramadhan fasting epitomizes.
Former Governor Ladoja who had earlier joined University of Ibadan Muslim Community to observe two Rakaah of prayer said in tolerating each other lies the unity and progres of the country assuring that Allah will answer the prayers.
