Niyi Akande, Osogbo.

Ex Osun chairman of Social Democratic Party, Dr. Bayo Faforiji, has urged members of Kosemani Group to remain steadfast and work together towards a return to Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

Dr Bayo Faforiji, the leader of Kosemani Group speaking at the meeting.

Dr. Faforiji, while speaking at the meeting of Kosemani Group, at its secretariat on Sunday in Osogbo, also noted efforts of PDP chieftains, whom he said were working to ensure quick return of the group back to PDP.

Faforiji said Kosemani Group left SDP because Senator Iyiola Omisore had turned the party to its personal property and was using it to enrich himself at the expense of members.

He said the decision by SDP not to field candidates in the 2019 general elections was wrong and maintained that the party would continue to be used as personal property by Omisore in the future.

He also commended the Senator representing Osun East in the Senate, Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, as well as Osun PDP chairman, Soji Adagunodo, for their support and encouragement for Kosemani Group.

Faforiji said, “we fought out of PDP before we left the other time, we dont want to fight again. We implore the party to put its house in order. We had planned return to the party on 14th February.

“But issues in PDP had forced us to put the plan return on hold. By Middle of March this year, we will announce to you our decision. Remain calm and steadfast as we continue to plan our next line of action.”

Briefing the meeting of its findings, Hamzat Folaranmi, who headed the Kosemani Group committee working on the next line of action, said the group left SDP since October last year.

Folaranmi said the group would move to another party in March and urged members to remain steadfast and committed to the cause of Kosemani group.

Dignitaries at the meeting were;
Engr Adetoye Ogungboyega, Vice chairman, Osun West & chairman contact committee for the return to PDP, Alhaja Iyabo Oloyede,
Alhaji Musbau Shittu, Pastor Hamzat( aka Parmer), Lekan Obisakin, Hon Emiola Fakeye, Alhaja Yekini Tawakalit, Prince Adeoye,  Mr Fasipe a.k.a Fash Osumare, Chief Elugbade Kemade and many Local government party chairmen of SDP.
