There was wide jubilations in Badeku, a town in Ona-ora local government, Oyo State yesterday following restoration of power supply in the community.
Badeku was thrown into darkness some months back when men of the underworld stormed the town and cartered away electricity cables in the community. The area, it was said, came back into life when the cable was fixed and again electrified.
Speaking on the development, Chief Felix Oyebamiji Lawal, the Baale of Badeku, on behalf of the people of the town appreciated Hon. Taiwo Micheal Akintola, the House of Representatives member representing the area for his intervention.
According to the chief, Hon. Taiwo was called upon three weeks ago in view of the dark out in the community and he promised to wade into the situation. The chief added, “on Monday, he responded to our expressed need and today (Saturday), the power challenge has been fixed and light is back to our community.”
“We sincerely thank Hon. Taiwo for this wonderful development and his good leadership. This is not his first time of coming to our aid. He built classrooms in this community and his also supporting us in areas of water supply.”
“He is from Butu, one of the villages under my province and really doing well. We are grateful to him and wish him success in his re-election bid.”
Hon. Taiwo is seeking re-election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress. He was described by the residents of Badeku as a silent achiever and friend of the people. Badeku people restated their love and support for him and his party.
