A team of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority NMDPRA, on Tuesday, carried out a raid on filling stations in Osogbo, State of Osun and sealed Abeeb filling station in the Olaiya area of the state.
This was as NMDPRA warned those hoarding to desist, saying anyone selling above the market price will be dealt with.
OsunDialy gathered that some filling stations in the state have increased their pump price since the announcement by President Bola Tinubu that the era of subsidy in fuel is gone.
The station according to an eyewitness was sealed as a result of the management’s defiance to the directives of the NMDPRA team.
According to the eyewitness, the filling station was not selling fuel when the NMDPRA team arrived but was instructed to start selling, which they obliged to.
“However, after the team left the station, the attendants on the instruction of the manager stopped selling the fuel.
“Unknowingly to them, the NMDPRA team were still around and only went to take a turn close to the station. On coming back, they saw the station had stopped selling the fuel. They came back and sealed the station.”
