We would like to set the record straight regarding the recent comments made by an agent of the PDP about the reactions of some APC members on Governor Ademola Adeleke’s courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Contrary to the misleading narrative and latest political statement by Mallam Olawale Rasheed; the Special Adviser / Spokesperson to the Osun State Governor; APC members’ concerns were not driven by disrespect for the President’s office or the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as wrongly coined in the Open Letter to President Tinubu. Rather, most of the comments and reactions from our Osun APC members stemmed from the perceived political undertone and timing of the visit, which may have been misinterpreted as a gesture of submission or olive branch.
We respect the highly esteemed office of the President, and our concerns were aimed at ensuring that the party’s stance and interests are protected. We urge all well-meaning Nigerians to consider the context and motivations behind actions, rather than spreading misinformation.
The APC remains committed to its principles and values, and we will continue to engage in constructive dialogue and actions that promote our party’s interests.
In 2022, preceding the Presidential election in the country, a time when it seemed the whole world was crashing on just one person, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Those moments felt like a raging storm that wouldn’t end. Every day towards the election seemed uncertain. Thoughts of we BAT supporters raced, our hearts felt heavy, and it was very tough as we managed to find our footing in the midst of blatant lies, massively sponsored propagandas and manipulation of the government systems, just to prevent, one man, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu from being voted for.
We supporters of BAT remained tenacious in our stand for him, against all the odds.
Though in the SouthWest, the elites and a lot of misinformed youths in Lagos massively voted against Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC, based on lies and AI doctored propagandas.
In Osun State, Governor Adeleke and his allies in the presidency (during Buhari Administration), spread negative narratives and wanton lies against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate of 2023 presidential election. They blamed him for the Naira scarcity and also for the fuel scarcity. They tagged him all sorts of names, and spread doctored AI propagandas. All in the bid to prevent him from being president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
They didn’t stop at that, even after the elections was clearly won by Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC, they started the rhetorics to damage his personality, and when that didn’t work they went on that the President’s policies are the reasons why the Osun people are hungry and are deprived of their basic needs. When they should have taken responsibility of their failures.
Now, the same people who threw dirts, muds and garbages at Mr president, our leader, the father of the nation, are the same people now seeking counsel and refuge from him.
The resilience and doggedness of Mr president to stay focused on his “Renewed Hope Agenda” regardless of the many lies, propagandas and criticism by the ruling Osun State PDP government and the oppositions nationwide, has now earned him the Confirmed Father and Leader of the Nation. He is now described by the opposition as a battle tested democrat. Amongst many complimentary accolades, all from the ones who once said all sorts of negative and baseless things against his personality and his policies.
Of a truth it is only Gold that goes through Fire and gets Refined. Mr President, the visits of your detractors to seek counsels and refuge have confirmed to us that you are that Gold that went through Fire, and now Refined.
But when Straws goes through Fire, they get Consumed. No wonder, Governor Adeleke’s ruling PDP government in Osun State, have always been complaining on the APC opposition expositories about their failed government.
In context, comparing the test of gold and that of straws in fire; the recent actions and comments of PDP leadership in Osun State; including the so-called courtesy visit by Governor Ademola Adeleke and latest political statement by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, disguised as an “Open Letter to President Tinubu” has proven that the heat of the Osun APC opposition is obviously consuming Governor Adeleke and the Osun PDP.
If truly the government of Governor Adeleke is coming to Mr president plainly, why should they present a Manipulated Performance Score Card of their administration in the past two years plus, to Mr President and the world.
They came openly to say that they;
* constructed over 250 kilometers of roads. When well over 50% of the said roads are in Ede, while majority of Local Government Areas in Osun State are deprived of good road infrastructures.
* If truly they paid over 60 billions of naira in pension and salary debt, then they must applaud the policies of Mr President, which they had earlier condemned, for making so much monies available to them.
* They claimed to have rehabilitated over 200 health centres, when all they did was to paint the exteriors of the ones well rehabilitated by the previous Oyetola administration. Then they recommisoned them as though they were the ones who rehabilitated them.
* They purchased 31 tractors for mechanisation. We demand from Governor Adeleke the whereabouts of the touted 31 or should we be asking for the 114 tractors they claimed to have been purchased for staggering N8billion.
* We have not been able to see the justification for the construction of flyover bridges at Lameco Junction in Osogbo and at Ile-Ife. As the vehiclar movement at those locations before the construction, has never cause gridlocks, nor does the volume vehicles on those routes warrant the need for flyovers. Hence, the government is showing the misplaced priorities of their government.
* The only reality that has dawned on the common persons in Osun State with the creation of the University of Ilesa, is that the government surely doesn’t have the common persons and less privileged people of Osun State in their mind. As the tuition fees of the University is far out of reach for the common people in Osun State.
We can go on and on re-evaluating the Performance Score Card presented by the Governor Adeleke administration and prove to the world that the ruling Osun PDP government have always based their Performance on lies, propagandas and deceits.
So, when Truth is tested by Fire it comes out Refined, but when Lies is tested by Fire it gets Consumed!!!
People would have given kudos to Mallam Olawale Rasheed as a genuine democrat, if he has been bold to let the world understand that the same strategic efforts and many economic policies; including removal of fuel subsidies that his party (Osun PDP) had rubbished is what has been enriching the State. But unfortunately, he wasn’t bold enough to applaud the great achievements of Mr President’s policies. He was rather creating distractions with unfounded comments regarding the coming 2026 Governorship election.
This is the basis why the Osun APC members; including the Òmìnira Osun Movement are demanding for public apology from the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke and Osun PDP for all the lies and series of blackmail against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his governance style, which has become a blessing to Nigerians.
We insist on our request for the apology to the President and Federal Government, except there is any justification that all purported achievements of the incumbent government of Osun State are independent of the federal allocation.
We want to reaffirm to the people of Osun that APC is coming to give them the Liberation they long for, after so much oppression by the failed ruling Osun PDP.
Ominira Osun!!!
