The management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has held a day a safety sensitization programme for the students of Osogbo Grammar School, Osogbo as parts of activities for this year’s International Children’s Day celebration.
Taking the students through safety measures while using electricity, the Osogbo Business Hub Technical Engineer of the company, Mr. Akinloye Salam, said they should not touch displaced electricity cable, as doing so may put them in danger.
Salam also told the students to put off electrical appliances while not in use and ensure they they put off light whenever they were out of the house.
In his remarks, IBEDC Regional Head, Osun Region, Mr. Adeniyi Adeleke, urged the students to approach their education with zeal and pursue their dream with hard-work.
He urged them to be careful with electricity, adding that, “you must also take congnisance of power installations and networks.
“Some of them are aging. While going home, be safety conscious. In market, don’t put your goods under our lines. At home, you have to switch off your appliances while not in use.”
