The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for Osun west senatorial district in the next month’s general election, Akogun Lere Oyewunmi, of using hoodlums to attack the supporters of the party in Irewole Local Government.
In a Facebook post, an APC member alleged that Akogun Lere Oyewumi, men attacked the campaign of the Osun West Senatorial Candidate of APC, Dr. Amidu Tadese, while moving from wards towards in Ikire town.
It was gathered that the attack left a number of the supporters and members of APC injured at Ward 9, in Ikire, on Tuesday.
The political hoodlums were said to have attacked them with cutlasses and guns and destroyed their vehicles.
However, supporters of the PDP senatorial candidate debunked the allegation, saying the candidate did not lead or sent anyone to attack the APC candidate, adding that he is only concerned about how to market himself to the people of Osun West.
They urged the APC to direct their blame to other quarters, saying the allegations was baseless and lacked merit.
