A Muslim cleric, Imam Taofeek Abdulhammed has charged the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to be weary of sycophants and remain focused in a bid to deliver on his mandate for the people of the state.
The cleric gave the charge at the Inter-religious prayers held to herald new year 2023 at the Government Secretariat Abere on Tuesday.
Abdulhammed, who is the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Oyo State, in his words of admonition for the governor, recalled Adeleke’s inaugural speech, where he made statements that were tantamount to entering into a covenant with God and Osun people.
He said: “Don’t be carried away by the pros and cons of the office for the sake of Allah. There will be sycophants that will be praising you to high heavens. Human beings are so terrible indeed, they will keep on praising you but be focused. History is there to judge you, whether you do good or bad,”
