A 44-year-old man,Nnamdi Ariwodo was on Friday arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Osogbo for stealing.
Osun Daily had reported how Ariwondo and others at large specialize
in trailing bank customers who came to withdraw was on Tuesday arrested the Nigeria Civil Defense Service Corps.
Appearing before Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara Ariwondo was accused to have attacked and broke into the car of one Beauty Adeyemi to steal her bag containing #200,000 and valuables worth #150,000.Total sum #350,000.
According to the charge, the offence was committed on October 8,2019 around 3:30pm at Polaris Bank,Fakunle Area, Osogbo.
The offences were contrary and punishable under sections 516,411(1)&(2),383(1) and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol 2 laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The accused who was arraigned on three counts bothering on forcible entry,car breaking and stealing pleaded not guilty.
The Defence Counsel,Jimmy Jones applied for bail in the most liberal terms.
The Prosecutor,S.B Sambo opposed the bail application on the ground that if granted bail, the accused will jeopardize their investigation.
The prosecutor added that the accused resides in Lagos, which was outside the jurisdiction of the court, stressing that he could jump bail and would be difficult to track him.
The Magistrate in his ruling granted the accused person bail in the sum of #1 million and two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till November 15,2019 for mention.
