An aspirant for the seat of the Ilesa East State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, Hon. Olayiwola Oluwawemimo, has said the All Progressives Congress has ruled the country for too long.
Hon. Oluwawemimo, a business man and youth mobiliser turned politician, disclosed this in a statement he personally signed and made available to this medium on Wednesday.
He also said ADC was ready to rescue Nigeria, noting that the focus of the party remains delivery of development, equity and progress for Osun people, especially the youth and grassroots communities in Ilesa East.
Oluwawemimo emphasized that ADC was prepared to offer an alternative vision for Nigeria, one that breaks the stranglehold of the APC.
“I make bold to say that Regardless of who emerges as our flag‑bearer, we pledge unwavering support to ensure that the ADC triumphs in the upcoming gubernatorial contest. Our focus remains on delivering development, equity, and progress for the people of Osun State, especially the youth and grassroots communities in Ilesa East.
“We are ready to rescue Nigeria from APC’s grip. ADC is prepared to offer an alternative vision for Nigeria, one that breaks the stranglehold of the All Progressives Congress.
“The APC has ruled for too long, and the nation is yearning for good governance, accountability, and inclusive growth. The ADC stands poised to save Nigeria from mismanagement, insecurity, and economic stagnation.
“Our agenda focuses on youth empowerment, agricultural revival, health and education reforms, and restoring hope to the grassroots. We invite all Nigerians who share this vision to join us in building a new Nigeria where every citizen thrives,” Oluwawemimo said.
Commenting further on the plan of ADC for the populace, he said the party was poised to save “Nigeria from mismanagement, insecurity, and economic stagnation. Our agenda focuses on youth empowerment, agricultural revival, health and education reforms, and restoring hope to the grassroots. We invite all Nigerians who share this vision to join us in building a new Nigeria where every citizen thrives.”
Reacting to the recent letter by the ex Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti, announcing his withdrawal from Omoluabi Progressives, the caucus he co‑founded, and by extension, from the ADC’s internal group activities, Oluwawemimo said, “His decision, outlined in the withdrawal letter, cites family pressure and the need for a short break from politics as the primary reasons.
“Sequel to the above, I write to wish Alhaji Moshood Adeoti well in his future endeavours, I make bold to say we will surely miss him, especially his political ingenuity and prowess.
I appreciate Alhaji Adeoti for his years of service, his role as former Deputy Leader of Omoluabi Progressives and his dedication to ADC’s growth.

“And I believe when his short break from politics is over, the doors of the ADC are wide open for him to walk back through.”
He reaffirmed commitment to the believe in fairness, inclusivity, and democratic principles, noting that all aspirants for the 2026 Osun Governorship ticket of ADC are valued members of the party.
He commended ADC national officials for standing by the principles of the party, through their declaration that no official nomination or anointing of a particular aspirant has been done ahead of Osun Governorship poll.
“The primaries are still pending, as according to our party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, who has publicly dismissed the premature claims. The ADC will tow the path of transparency,” he added.
Regardless of who emerges as the ADC flag‑bearer, Oluwawemimo pledged unwavering support to ensure that the party emerge victorious in the forth coming gubernatorial contest.
Looking in the future, Oluwawemimo said very soon ADC will announce the schedule for its statewide primaries, after which the official candidate will be presented to the electorate.
“In the meantime, I urge all members to
maintain peace, unity, and discipline as the political season progresses,” he concluded.
