Aspirations of former deputy governor of Osun state Senator Christopher Iyiola Omisore, to govern the state seems to be getting more favorable disposition across the state, after appearing before the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state.
The impressive outings recorded by Senator Omisore, who got rave reviews for his performances at a governorship debate organised by BBC and Channels Tv, has also shoot up the rating of the ex parliamentarian.
The first significant good sign about the governorship ambition of Senator Omisore surfaced few days ago, when candidates of the major parties fielding candidates in the September 22 governorship election appeared before the state leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The meeting was held at First Baptist Church, Inisa had in attendance Very Rev. Michael Okodua and other members of the State Executives Committee of the association.
The governorship candidates who appeared before the association were; Mr. Gboyega Oyetola of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ademola Adeleke of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Fatai Akinbade of African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Prof. Adeolu Durotoye, running mate to Action Democratic Party (ADP).
Accord Party governorship candidate, Pastor Pade Okunola and Labour Party candidate, Mr. Babatunde Olaniyi-Loye. Senator Iyiola Omisore of Social Democratic Party (SDP), it was learnt arrived the venue of the meeting when others have addressed those present and left.
A source at the meeting said: “other candidates addressed the meeting for just 2 minutes each on their plans if elected.
“But Senator Iyiola Omisore from what many of us obeserved, awed the meeting, which also had in attendance representatives of CAN across all the 30 local government areas in the state.
“He was clear and direct regarding his plans for the state and many members feel for now, he is clearly the best. Sincerely, his (Senator Omisore) rating is on the increase.”
Also, based on his performances at the governoship debates organised by BBC and Channels Tv, alongside three other candidates namely: Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola of APC, Engr. Fatai Akinbade of ADC and Alhaji Moshood Adeoti of ADP, Senator Omisore was rated first by many people across many social media platforms.
