The former Corps Commander of Amotekun Corps in Osun State, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi (retd.), has launched a N5.5 million empowerment programme for women, youths, and business owners in Ede North Local Government Area of the state.
The empowerment, tagged Adewinmbi-Ambo Solidarity Cooperative, was in support of the APC chieftain’s Senatorial ambition as well as the governorship ambition of Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji.
Adewinmbi, in a statement obtained on Sunday, noted that eleven wards in Ede North would benefit from the empowerment, adding that the initiative would extend to all local governments in the Osun West Senatorial District by January 2026.
He noted that the scheme would grant access to affordable financing for market women, traders, artisans, and enterprising youths.

He said, “Today marks a stepping stone toward the upliftment of our women, youths and Business owners in our communities, and indeed, the entirety of Osun West Senatorial District.
“I am deeply honoured to stand before you on this historic day as we inaugurate the Adewinmbi -AMBO Cooperative Loan Scheme, an initiative designed to foster economic empowerment and inclusivity; an initiative inspired by our collective desire for a better tomorrow.
“I congratulate and appreciate everybody present here today, for your resilience, your ingenuity, and the crucial role you play in the economic backbone of our society. It is often said that when you empower a woman, you empower a nation. In today’s case, it’s not only the women but everyone.
“Indeed, our progress as a people is tied to the opportunities we provide for our mothers, sisters, daughters, brothers and everyone.
“Permit me to express profound gratitude to a true visionary, a leader of the people, and a champion for grassroots empowerment—Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji. Truly, this project started a long time ago before he aspired for the Governorship seat, but his resolute ambition to serve as Governor and his deep commitment to improving lives across Osun State have inspired this noble project today.

“This scheme will grant access to affordable financing for our market women, traders, artisans, and enterprising youths. It is our belief that, by supporting small businesses and cooperative societies, we are directly planting the seeds for economic growth, poverty alleviation, and social stability.
“We want every beneficiary here today to take full advantage of this opportunity, to expand your businesses, contribute meaningfully to the local economy, and support your families with dignity and pride.
