In fulfillment of the resolve of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman to enable the conduct of smooth, free, fair, credible and violence-free 2023 General elections, the Nigeria Police Force, Osun Command, on Wednesday, got a new Commissioner of Police for the forthcoming elections, Peter Abayomi.
Abayomi was posted to the State Command for election duty and resumed office yesterday, replacing Patrick Longe.
It would be recalled that the state All Progressives Congress, APC, have been calling for the transfer of Longe from the state, accusing him of siding with the PDP in harrasing it’s members.
In a statement by the command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, the new Commissioner of Police, will meet Political Party leaders, Contestants and other stakeholders on Friday.
