The President of Otan-Ayegbaju Progressive Union (OAPU), Alhaji abdulhakeem Mosebolatan, has rejoiced with Muslims in Otan-Ayegbaju and Boluwaduro in general on the celebration of Eid-el-kabir.
He commended the Muslims for the love and unity they have enjoyed with other faithfuls in the communities.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of OAPU, Lateef Dada, on Friday, Mosebolatan described the Eid as a festival of sacrifice and fulfilment of promises.
He urged the people of Otan-Ayegbaju and Boluwaduro to sustain the peace that has existed in the communities and continue to pray for the progress of the towns in the area.
He specifically advised political office holders, particularly those who are representing the zone, to imbibe the culture of fulfilment of promises as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (ASW).
Mosebolatan also felicitated the Owa of Otan Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman ojo Fadipe, and all traditional rulers in Boluwaduro Local Government.
“The history of Eid-el-kabir, Ileya as popularly known in Yorubaland, was traced to the fulfilment of promise made by Prophet Ibrahim to Allah and sacrifice.

“This is enough for us to emulate as Muslims and political leaders who have made electoral pledge during their campaigns.
“Allah that rewarded Prophet Ibrahim for fulfilling his promises is there to reward whoever follow his footsteps.
“I want us to use the period to pray for continuous peace and progress of our communities in the entire Boluwaduro Local Government.
“We should not allow politics to decide us. Our unity is our strength. May Allah accept all our sacrifices during this period,” Mosebolatan said.
