No fewer than 300 market women and artisans from 14 communities on Thursday benefitted from free medical outreach programme at Woru town in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State.
The outreach sponsored by Bells Initiative and held at the Woru palace also attracted residents from 14 communities around the councils.
Speaking about the outreach, the Project and Operational Manager for Bells Initiative, Owafunke Balogun explained that the programme is to give beneficiaries preventive healthcare services for free.
“Our target audience is 300 who are market women and artisans. Most times they dont have the time to go to hospital to do health screening and checkups. We are doing blood pressure, diabetes and tuberculosis screening for them.”

Also, the Oniworu of Woru, Oba Olalekan Atoyebi commended the initiative in his domain noting that the outreach will go a long way to help residents to know their health status.
“They conducted medical checks on me and my chiefs. I admonished residents to come out en mass for the screening. I invited 15 communities in my domain for the programme and out of them, 14 communities are on the ground here today.”
