The Chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming Local Government Election in Atakunmosa West Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Dada Ajibola, has pledged to reposition the local government council for a brighter and more prosperous future.

Hon. Ajibola made this commitment at the flag-off ceremony organized by the PDP to officially declare him, along with his running mate, Hon. Oluwole Oni, and the councilorship candidates, as the party’s flag bearers for the 2025 Osun State Local Government elections on Thursday.

Expressing gratitude to the party leadership at both the local government and state levels for selecting him as the PDP candidate, Hon. Ajibola promised to build on the foundation laid during his tenure as Caretaker Chairman. He vowed to enhance the delivery of the dividends of democracy that the people of Atakunmosa West had come to enjoy under his leadership.

As the most accessible level of government to the people, Hon. Ajibola reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring quality healthcare, robust education, enhanced security, welfare, and other essential services for the residents of Atakunmosa West once elected.

He reiterated his dedication to realizing the vision and mission of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke for the local government area by aligning his policies, programs, and projects with the Governor’s broader agenda for the State.

Hon. He emphasized that the Governor’s second term is critical for the continued progress of the state.

He also congratulated members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) who defected to the PDP at the rally, urging them to encourage others to leave the parties that have caused hardship, hunger, and anger in the land, and join the PDP—the true democratic party in Africa.

Hon. Ajibola thanked his supporters for their steadfast commitment and urged them to redouble their efforts to ensure the party’s victory in the forthcoming local government elections and in the 2026 governorship election.
