The people of Ifon-Orolu community in Osun State have pledged readiness to partner the state government towards improving security within and around the border town.
This pledge was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary, Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union Board Of Trustees, a flagship group for indigenes of the town, Mr. Jide Akinyooye, in appreciation of the governor, Ademola Adeleke, for appointing Mr.
Nurudeen Kareem, as Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters.
Akinyooye, who, in the statement obtained in Osogbo on Saturday, said appointment of an Ifon indigene into the post was an indication of Adeleke’s huge affection for the town, noted that the community would continue to partner the governor in maintaining peaceful coexistence within and outside Orolu local government area.
Describing the appointee as a capable hand for the assignment, Akinyooye also expressed confidence in Kareem’s ability to deliver regarding the demands of his office.
The statement partly read, “We are proud to have associated with the administration of Ademola Adeleke in Osun State and would like to emphatically state that the decision regarding the appointee is in the right direction.
“It is like putting a round peg in a round hole. Comrade Nurudeen Kareem is an experienced legal practitioner, activist and a peace negotiator. Therefore, we can confidently say that the new appointee will deliver and add value to governance through the given opportunity to serve and contribute to the developments of the state.
“We are pledging the continued support of the entire people of Orolu Local Government, Ifon as a partner in progress of moving Osun State forward. We will also continue to support efforts of the administration to maintain peace in and around Orolu local government area.”
