Just In: Osun govt pays alleged diverted salaries of judiciary staff

The alleged diverted  48-month salaries of some judicial staff in Osun State have been reportedly paid by the state government.

An aide to Governor Ademola Adeleke made this known in a post, saying that the payment was already effected.

He noted that the gesture was in response to the harsh economic conditions of the affected staff of the state judiciary.

Recall that the leadership of the Judiciary workers in the state have alleged that the salaries of some staff were diverted, fingering the state Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo.

Recall that JUSUN executives last week Wednesday following announced an indefinite strike after they were dispersed with teargas by the police.

The protesting JUSUN leaders were teargas by the police after an attempt to move towards where the Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo’s vehicle was parked.

The workers had picketed the state high court in protest against the CJ’s alleged high-handedness, indiscriminate suspension of workers and non-payment of wardrobe allowances.

“The measure was taken while the workers awaited the outcome of the ongoing investigation by the National Judicial Council,” the aide said.
