“On behalf of the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff and students of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, I respectfully and sincerely appreciate Your Excellency for an upward review of the monthly subvention to the college from N17,045,069.33 to 43,090,139.06 with effect from payment June 2018.”
Those were the words of Professor Lateef Sanni, the Chairman, Governing Council of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora in a letter of appreciation written to Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi over the 36.7% increment in the subvention given to the college.
The Council said that the upward review of the monthly subvention to the college from 25% to 61.7% representing an increase of 36.7% deserved an appreciation from the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff and students of the College to Governor Ajimobi.

In a letter dated August 23, 2018 addressed to the Governor through the Commissioner for Education and titled “Appreciation on Upward Review of Subvention/Grant to Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo –Ora with reference nos Chairman/Gov.Con/01”, the Governing Council Chairman, Professor Lateef Sanni stated that the increment is a sign of Governor Ajimobi’s genuine concern for the development of tertiary institution in the state.

Professor Sanni stressed thatt the 36.7% increment has also reduced the college’s huge financial burden in monthly salary payment
The Chairman said that the Governing Council shared the financial sustainability which the Governorhas for the college, assuring that the Council is committed to making the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora the first among its equals in Nigeria.
Highlighting some major achievements of the college, Professor Sanni disclosed that the college introduced eight (8) new programmes which were visited by the National Board for Technical Education between 1st and 4th August, 2018, noting that promotion, upgrading and conversion of qualified staff were achieved in 2017.

According to the chairman, “the college had only five (5) National Diploma programmes as at 2011. At the commencement of 2017/2018 academic session, the college programmes were 11 National Diploma and 13 Higher National Diploma Programmes. In addition, the college introduced eight (8) new programmes which visited by the National Board for Technical Education.”

He stressed that efforts were on to ensure that a proposed template on restoration of 100% salary and payment of accrued arrears are accepted by the unions, pointing out that staff and financial audit exercise had been concluded with final vetting in progress.
