Former state and national lawmakers elected under the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, on Sunday, pledged to work for the gubernatorial candidate of the party in the August 08 election, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.
The former lawmakers under the aegis of the National Forum of Former Legislatures made the commitment at their inaugural meeting which was hosted by the National Secretary of the party, Senator Ajibola Basiru.
Speaking during the programme, Basiru who represented Osun Central at the 9th senate, said the former legislators have control of the grassroots and would work for the success of our party.
He added that the forum will also work for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

He said, “We are here to be able to ensure that we strategise and work for the victory of our party in the August 8th, 2026 election for our candidate, Bola Oyebamiji and also to work for the success of our party in the 2027 general election for President Bola Tinubu.
“And this is a gathering of people who have contested elections in various constituencies and have won previously. We believe that they are the people who have control of the grassroots to be able to work for the success of our party.
“We already have a candidate and all of us are working towards the success of that candidate in the election.”
