Kazeem Badmus, osogbo

Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and convener of Idera de Movement in Osun State has intensified reconciliatory efforts to bring members of the party  together and ensure convincing victory for candidates of the party in 2019.

Ogunbiyi had earlier closed ranks among members of the party in his Ile-Ogbo country home. He extended the reconciliatory moves to Kuta and Oluponna in Ayedire local government area of the state on Thursday.

Canvassing votes for PDP and her candidates from federal to the state level, Ogunbiyi told Olowu Kuta, Oba Hammed Adekunle Oyelude, Tegbosun III, and Olupo of Oluponna, Oba Emmanuel Onaolapo Oyeleso, Fadare II that political freedom of Iwoland is attached to the forthcoming polls.

The PDP chief repeatedly informed the monarchs and residents of the ancient cities, “our effort during the last election was not in vain. Against all odds, God was good to us. We have to forget about the past and complement the effort.”

“A house divided against itself cannot stand. The coming elections must be different. Together, we must ensure that PDP record a convincing win in 2019 in our constituency. We are laying a stronger foundation if we massively vote for Alahji Atiku Abubakar and all PDP candidates at the polls.”

Responding, Chief Olaoye Oyelayo, a chieftain of the party in the local government and Dr Lekan Ayantunji, a frontier leader in Kuta extolled Ogunbiyi for his statesmanship. They pat Alhaji Lukman Mudashir, the PDP House of Representatives candidate in the constituency and Hon. Ogunbiyi Akinyemi, PDP House of Assembly candidate (Ayedire) on the back, and expressed optimism that the party and her candidates would come out victorious in 2019.
